Tips for doing community visit for social work students

While doing the training in your BSW or MSW course, you have to visit to the several communities for data collection work or for doing the community organization meetings. Here I am sharing some tips about how to do community visit.

·         If you are going to the community first time, do not visit alone. Ask your NGO supervisor to send a community mobilzer with you so that that person can introduce you with the geographical conditions of the community and also with the people.

·         Do not have costly jewellery or costly mobile phone.

·         Try to meet with the group of people. Do not meet with them individually in your first meeting.

·         Try to build contacts.
